Benny Blanco Says He's 'Dreaming and Praying Every Day' That He'll Become a Dad: 'I Love Kids'

Benny Blanco is "praying every day" to be a dad.

While speaking exclusively with InStyle, the record producer, 37, shared his desire to have children. Blanco, who's currently engaged to actress Selena Gomez, told InStyle that he loves kids and is "dreaming and praying" to become a dad one day.

“I love kids; I love being an uncle,” he told the outlet. “I want to be a dad, though, God willing. I'm just dreaming and praying every day.”

The Only Murders in the Building actress, 32, shares her fiancé's excitement to have children. While speaking on the Monday, March 24 episode of the Jay Shetty Podcast, the couple — who announced their engagement in December 2024 — discussed Gomez's love of children after Blanco admitted he couldn't wait to hopefully show their joint album I Said I Love You First to their kids one day.

Gomez shared, "I don’t know what will happen, obviously, but I love children. I have an 11-year-old sister that I absolutely adore," referencing her beloved younger sibling, Gracie.

"I love making [children] laugh; they're just so sweet. So absolutely, when that day comes, I’m so excited for it," the singer added.

Gomez and Blanco first met in 2013 through Gomez's mom, Mandy Teefey, before collaborating on music. Blanco went on to co-produce the songs “Kill Em With Kindness” and “Same Old Love" on Gomez’s 2015 album, Revival.

The Disney alum was first linked romantically to Blanco, whose real name is Benjamin Joseph Levin, in December 2023, and confirmed their relationship when she liked fan account posts on Instagram of the two, even commenting, “He is my absolute everything in my heart,” on one.

Speaking to Vanity Fair for the outlet’s October 2024 issue, published Monday, Sept. 9, the Wizards of Waverly Place alum explained that she’s unable to carry her children.

“I haven’t ever said this...but I unfortunately can’t carry my own children,” Gomez said. “I have a lot of medical issues that would put my life and the baby’s in jeopardy. That was something I had to grieve for a while…”

Gomez has previously spoken about her complications with lupus, which she was diagnosed with in 2015. She also revealed her bipolar diagnosis in April 2020 during an episode of Miley Cyrus' Instagram Live show Bright Minded.

She added, “[But] I’m in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me.”

“It made me really thankful for the other outlets for people who are dying to be moms. I’m one of those people,” she continued. “I’m excited for what that journey will look like, but it’ll look a little different. At the end of the day, I don’t care. It’ll be mine. It’ll be my baby."
