Taylor Swift fans 'can't believe' Selena Gomez's telling post amid AMAs Reputation TV theories

Selena Gomez appeared to tease Swifties when she made a rather suspicious post, leaving them wondering about the status of Reputation (Taylor's Version).

The pop sensation posted a video of her best friend to her Instagram story. In the video, Taylor is accepting a BRIT award and seemed to reflect on her career, especially the difficulties she's overcome with the ownership of her masters.

She said, "And there might be time when you put your whole heart and soul into something and it is met with cynicism or skepticism. You cannot let that crush you. You have to let it fuel you because we live in a world where anyone has the right to say anything that they want about you any time, but just please remember that you have the right to prove them wrong."

Fans notice a telling detail, though, that lead them to start speculating about the potential release of Taylor's re-recording, Reputation (Taylor's Version). The video was in black-and-white, colors often associated with the Reputation era of her career, especially as the original album cover was completely devoid of color. Notably, Taylor uses colors to symbolize each era, making a point to link them together.

"I can’t believe this is real, I had to check her account," said one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, in a reply to another posting the screenshot.

Another fan took the theory a step forward, writing, "And WHO did Taylor come out of her social media blackout both before Rep SV and before (hopefully) Rep TV??? SELENA!!!! If I am wrong I'll be surprised but the Easter Eggs are egging and the feeling just feels right. Please let it be happening."

Rumors about Reputation TV have been buzzing for awhile, but have come to a new peak as we approach the American Music Awards on May 26. Fans are convinced an announcement for its release is on its way. After all, there are a few signs.

For example, the Handmaid's Tale on Hulu just released a new episode which featured the re-recorded song Look What You Made Me Do from the album, leaving fans to wonder if the full project could be on the way. The episode aired on May 20, but fans were further convinced by a move from Taylor's team.

Taylor's merch store, according to fans, gave a telling hint. The website sells a variety of products and is sorted into different categories. The featured categories on the top of the site are Apparel, Music, Accessories, and Sale in that order. Fans were quick to notice that the first letter of each word spells out AMAs.

Plus, the sale items are marked down either by 13% or 26%. 13 is notably Taylor's lucky number and 26, fans think, could be a reference to the AMAs date.

Selena and Taylor are longtime friends. In fact, Selena even made a guest appearance during Taylor's Reputation Tour.
