How Selena Gomez Is Hyping Up Pals Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift
Nobody does it like Selena Gomez.
Especially when it comes to hyping up her friends. Indeed, the “Call Me When You Break Up” singer has been doing just that while gushing about her pals Ariana Grande and Taylor Swift on social media.
In one video reposted to her Instagram Stories May 23, Selena—who is currently engaged to Benny Blanco—could be seen pulling the Wicked star into a warm embrace while at the Santa Barbara Film Festival in February.
“I’m reminded that women can always be supportive of each other,” the 32-year-old wrote over the heartwarming video. “I love you Ari.”
Moments later, the Only Murders in the Building actress shared another video of longtime bestie Taylor giving her acceptance speech at the 2021 Brit Awards, with “Cardigan” playing in the background.
“There might be times when you put your whole heart and soul into something and it is met with cynicism or skepticism,” Taylor said in the clip. “You cannot let that crush you. You have to let it fuel you.”
“Because we live in a world where anyone has the right to say anything that they want about you at any time,” she continued. “But just please remember that you have the right to prove them wrong.”
And given that the 14-time Grammy winner’s words were more than inspirational, Selena simply added an emoji with two hands raised in the air.
These messages for her friends came just two days after the “A Year Without Rain” singer subtly showed support for Hailey Bieber—who wed Justin Bieber in 2018 after his split from Selena earlier that year—by liking her May 20 Instagram post announcing that Rhode Beauty’s skincare line will be heading to Sephora.
After all, Selena had been shutting down feud rumors between her and Hailey for months.
"Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity," Selena wrote on her Instagram Stories back in March. "This isn't what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying."
"I've always advocated for kindness," she added, "and really want this all to stop."
