Selena Gomez and The Weeknd, Gigi Hadid and Cody Simpson and More Coachella Couples You Forgot Dated

It seems like music and love are always in the air at Coachella.

It's no surprise that the weekend is filled with couples swaying on the grass of the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, while listening to their favorite artists like this year's headliners, like Lady Gaga and Post Malone. Despite the PDA in-person and on social media, the romance doesn't always make it to the next festival.

And celebrities at the event are no different. For years, fans have had the chance to see a glimpse into longtime love, including now-exes Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler—who dated from 2011 to 2020—and shorter relationships like Selena Gomez and The Weeknd's 10-month romance in 2017.

Nevertheless, the music festival has been the place to see stars' fashion, friendships and relationships—including the ones that fizzled out before making it back out to the California desert.

While Kylie Jenner and Tyga attended the music festival in 2016 before their March 2017 breakup, the Kardashians star eventually found love on the same festival grounds with now-ex Travis Scott.

"Coachella was one of the stops on his tour," she revealed to GQ in 2018. "So he said, 'I'm going back on tour—what do we want to do about this?' Because we obviously liked each other. And I was like, 'I guess I'm going with you.'" (Travis will return to the 2025 festival to headline Saturday's setlist.)

The former couple—who share kids Stormi, 7, and Aire, 3—ultimately lived out the beginning of their relationship on tour before announcing Kylie's pregnancy with their first child weeks later.

Meanwhile, for Vanessa and Austin—who were dubbed the king and queen of Coachella for their boho-chic ensembles—the event was a space to spend time together and express themselves.

"It's just such a fun place to dress however you want and I definitely do," the High School Musical alum—who attended five festivals with her now-ex during their relationship—told E! News in 2022. "It's really nice to be seen. "That's what we all want: to be seen and feel safe to express ourselves. Coachella has always been a place where I've felt safe to express myself."
