Kim Kardashian Reacts to "Rare" Time Off While 4 Kids Are in China With Kanye West
Sometimes, Kim Kardashian just wants a break from keeping up with her kids.
That's why the reality star jumped at the chance to go glamping (a.k.a. glamorous camping) with sister Khloe Kardashian and mom Kris Jenner when her children North, 11, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 5, joined ex Kanye West on tour in China.
"It's rare that I get time off as a mom," she shared on the April 3 episode of The Kardashians. "But there's always something new that you can try, so why not go on a gorgeous, luxurious trip to Joshua Tree like Khloe wants?"
Unfortunately, Kim's respite was short-lived when North called her from abroad to sound off about jet lag while she was on the road to the California national park.
"North is in China with her dad, she's performing with him," Kim explained in a confessional. "But she is still my baby, so she calls me for everything."
And the call was a long one, with North even asking Kim if she could "fly in ten minutes before the show."
"I'm just so hungry," North told her mom over the phone, as she struggled to order room service from her hotel in China. "This is so hard."
Kim ended up staying on the line with North for most of the drive, telling her daughter as she approached her final destination, "We're in the desert so just in case it cuts out, I love you so much. I'll talk to you definitely before the show."
Indeed, North has formed quite the attachment to Kim in recent years. As the SKIMS founder explained in a previous episode of The Kardashians, "North is obsessed with me now and calls me with her friends."
"Like, 'Mom, I love you. You’re the best mom, I love you so much,'" Kim continued, noting how she's noticed a "turnaround" in their mother-daughter bond since her and Kanye's divorce was finalized in 2022. "It's insane."
