Kim Kardashian's Vanity Fair Oscars Dress Is Accidental Nod to Her Kris Humphries Wedding
Kim Kardashian is an outfit repeater. Well, kind of.
When The Kardashians star stepped out at Vanity Fair’s 2025 Oscars party, fans immediately took note that her white strapless Balenciaga gown was similar to the one she wore during her 2011 wedding to Kris Humphries.
\Indeed, the 44-year-old—who shares kids North West, 11, Saint West, 9, Chicago West, 6, and Psalm West, 5, with ex Kanye West—kept her look simple, pairing the dress with a slick back bun and minimal, glowy makeup with no jewelry.
And while the base for her Oscars after-party look was similar to her 2011 look, rest assured, it was not the exact same. After all, Kim’s wedding gown included a fluffy tulle skirt and beaded diamond crown with a veil.
The SKIMS founder may have no trouble accidentally recreating the fashion moment, but her marriage to the NBA player is one she’d otherwise rather forget.
“I just thought, ‘Holy shit, I’m 30 years old, I better get this together, I better get married,’” Kim reflected on a 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live. “I think a lot of girls do go through that where they freak out thinking they’re getting old and they have to figure it out, all their friends are having kids. And so it was more of that situation.”
More recently, Kim shared that she had cold feet before even walking down the aisle—but went through with it out of fear for public judgement.
“I thought, 'OK, we're filming this for a TV show,’” Kim, who also called her 72-day marriage “miserable,” recalled in a 2021 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. “‘If I leave, I'm going to be known as the runaway bride forever. It's going to be a huge joke.’”
But nearly 15 years later, Kim has learned to laugh at herself and can even appreciate what was a phenomenal look. Keep reading for more red carpet moments at the Vanity Fair party…
