Jennifer Stone Details "Messy High School Nonsense" Between Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus Over Nick Jonas

It turns out everything was not as it seemed for Selena Gomez and Miley Cyrus during the early aughts.

The Disney Channel alums have often bumped into each other over the years, but there was one place they allegedly did not cross paths at all: 2009's Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana.

Despite the three-part event bringing together the casts of Wizards of Waverly Place, Hannah Montana and The Suite Life on Deck, Selena's Alex Russo and Miley's Hannah Montana never shared any scenes together. And there's a reason for that, according to former Wizards of Waverly Place star Jennifer Stone.

"They intermittently got along," Jennifer explained on the July 29 episode of her Wizards of Waverly Pod, pointing out that both of them had dated Nick Jonas by the time of filming. "I mean, come on. It was like high school."

While her co-host David DeLuise has no memory of any drama on set, Jennifer remembers all of it.

"I think Miley dated him first and then Selena dated him, and then it was it was just messy high school nonsense," she continued. "I know they were intermittently not getting along."

Luckily, Miley and Selena were able to put the past behind them.

"They're fine now," Jennifer added. "But, yeah, it was high school just BS."

And David has sympathy for the two, lamenting that being a teen for Miley and Selena was "on another level where the world is watching them."

As Jennifer noted, "Now, you look back and you're like, 'I don't even remember what we were upset about.'"

Indeed, Miley and Selena share a mutual ex. The "Wrecking Ball" singer dated Nick from 2006 to 2007, while the Jonas Brothers rocker and Selena were briefly together in 2008.

And to prove that there's no bad blood between them, the stars have continued to support each other over the years, with Selena quickly squashing any feud rumors in August 2023 as the two released new music on the same day.

"@mileycyrus and I both have a SINGLE SOON and we are releasing on the same day," she wrote on Instagram Story Aug. 18. "We have been friends since we USED TO BE YOUNG. Excited for August 25!!!"

As for their love lives, Miley, 31, has been in a relationship with boyfriend Maxx Morando since November 2021.

Meanwhile, Selena, 32, calls producer Benny Blanco the "love of my life" after being first linked in December.
