Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco Reveal New Collab Album
Selena Gomez is out to prove she loves Benny Blanco like a love song.
The “Look at Her Now” singer’s latest social media post confirmed she and her fiancé, who announced their engagement in December, are teaming up on an upcoming musical collaboration.
"I always trick you guys," she wrote Feb. 13. "My NEW album I Said I Love You First with my best friend @bennyblanco, is out on 3/21."
Selena added, "We can’t wait to share this special project with you soon!"
In fact, their first song "Scared of Loving You" is already out on streaming platforms.
In a post on Instagram Stories Feb. 13, Selena shared a photo of a handwritten note reading, “I said I love you first.” Shortly thereafter, Benny—who has written and produced chart-topping hits for the likes of Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5 and Katy Perry—reposted the cryptic message on his own Instagram Stories, leading some to think that the note might actually be a song title.
It isn't the first time the couple—who previously collaborated on the 2019 single “I Can't Get Enough” alongside J Balvin and Tainy—have teased the idea of working together again. After a TikTok user asked Benny, 38, to “please make some new songs for our queen” in January, he responded with a video of the 32-year-old adjusting a microphone in a home studio.
However, the Emilia Pérez star—who began dating the record producer in 2023—has hinted that music could eventually take a backseat in the grand scheme of her professional life.
“I love storytelling, and my music career is separate,” she told Saoirse Ronan in December during their Variety Actors on Actors conversation. “However, I don’t see that being a forever thing.”
And while Selena explained that singing is more “vulnerable” than “escaping into a character,” she pointed out why making music will always come naturally to her.
“I’ll always have music in my life because my partner’s a musician,” the singer continued, “and I love having moments to do it for fun.”
